Coaching is probably one of the most—if not the most—individually tailored practices in talent development as it involves a close and confidential client driven, relationship between the coach and the person being coached. Mercer Group will meet one-on-one with senior managers or leaders within an organization (such as a director, vice president, president, or member of the C-suite), and provide a safe, structured, and trustworthy environment in which to offer support for individuals. Mercer is dedicated to helping the individual being coached understand their current competencies, see how they’re perceived by others, and focus on identifying and clarifying current goals as well as the appropriate action steps to reach those goals.
Mercer Group utilizes several assessments to help individuals develop more self-awareness as a leader. One assessment we use is the GOV360®. It provides an opportunity to better understand personal strengths and opportunities for growth through the perspectives of the people they work with. It combines information from a self-assessment completed by the individual with results from anonymous questionnaires completed online by subordinates, peers, and manager or elected leader, who supply feedback about performance. This unique online 360-degree assessment instrument was designed by faculty from the Carl Vinson Institute of Government and the University of Georgia Department of Psychology to address the specific circumstances of the government workplace.
