Biography
Tommy has worked within Health Care IT, School System Technologies and Municipal Government IT in various support and leadership roles for over 24 years. He is currently the Director of Technology and Innovation for the Town of Hilton Head, SC. Tommy has a bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems from Gardner-Webb and has received his certifications in Municipal and County Administration and Certified Government Chief Information Officer from the University of North Carolina- Chapel Hill. He has provided consultation for technology for various clients’ needs and developed technology strategic plans. He currently serves on the Municipal Technology Association of South Carolina Board as Past President for 2022-23.
Background
Joseph is a Consulting Associate with Mercer Group Associates specializing in facilitation, budgeting, process analysis, capital improvement planning, and providing capacity support to clients and other associates within MGA. He is passionate about local governance and seeks to improve the quality of bureaucracy wherever he works. As a team member, he brings humor, compassion, and professionalism to the workplace.
Joseph lives in rural Arizona with his wife, four children, and their pets. During his free time, he strives to teach and love his family the way that his mentors did for him, watch movies, play music, and be outdoors.
