Lisa Ward has over 30 years of combined Government and Human Resources Experience. Prior to joining the Mercer team she served as the Director of Employee Development and Benefits for Jackson Electric Membership Corporation, the nation’s second largest EMC. In that role Lisa was responsible for employee benefits administration, recruiting and retention strategies, as well as employee performance management, training and development. Her previous employment was Human Resources Director for Athens-Clarke County, Georgia where she managed all aspects of the department which served over 1700 employees. She was responsible for self-funded insurance programs including, health, dental, short-term disability, general liability and worker’s compensation.
Lisa has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska. She attended the Senior Executive Institute (SEI) at the University of Virginia focusing on high performing organizations and holds PHR and SHRM-CP certifications from the Society for Human Resource Management. In 2008 Lisa retired as an officer from the United States Air Force with 23 years of active and reserve military service in three branches, Navy, Army and Air Force.
She has a deep-rooted passion for helping people. Lisa serves as an ICMA Coach and provides executive coaching to persons seeking to improve their career options or seeking professional development. She has a special interest in career building for women and veterans working in local government.
Lisa resides in St. Augustine, Florida along with her husband John Dahl and two teenage sons, Caleb and Seth. Quilting, reading and walking on the beach with her dogs are her passions away from work responsibilities.
